Second quarter recap
We've got a great roundup of new features and improvements to showcase in this quarterly recap blog post! Our team is continually improving our product for our customers, so it's always a joy to share our favorite updates as each new quarter rolls around.
It's worth pointing out from time to time that many of the updates we make go unannounced because they're small, mundane, or behind-the-scenes, but those are no less important than the exciting updates! Thankfully, we have no shortage of notable new features and improvements to share with you below. Read on to discover what our team was up to this past quarter!
🕒 Custom What's Happening delivery time
Following on the heels of the ability to customize the delivery day, you can now customize the time of day that What's Happening emails are delivered for your community! This is particularly useful for communities with calendar events that begin around when What's Happening emails are delivered, to help ensure these events are either included or excluded based on what is most appropriate for your community. What's Happening emails will be sent no earlier than the time you choose.
📄 Newly-added pages in What’s Happening emails
You can now opt to automatically announce newly-added pages in What’s Happening emails for your community! This makes it effortless to keep members in the loop about pages you add to your website. By default, new pages won't be included, but you can opt in via your What's Happening content settings.
✏️ Redesigned attachment editing
Attachments can be added and edited in a number of places across our platform, including blast emails, calendar events, and news articles. Based on customer feedback, we've redesigned the user experience for editing these to be both more functional and more intuitive. You can now easily remove specific attachments and/or add additional ones, without having to go through a full “replacement” process.
🏷️ Custom tags for classified listings
One of our most popular feature requests has been completed: the ability to customize the tags members can choose from for classified listings! The default list of available tags covers many of the most common types of classified listings, but you can now tailor the tags to meet the needs of your individual community by adding new tags, removing existing ones, and reordering the list. The tags are specific to the page, so you can even offer multiple classifieds pages with different sets of tags for improved organization.
🗳️ Vote on roadmap from Admin Portal
The Admin Portal dashboard, which showcases feature requests on our roadmap, now gives you the ability to quickly add your vote to one of these feature requests. Voting signals your interest in the feature and ensures you receive future updates about the feature request, like when it's released. With this new improvement, you no longer need to leave the Admin Portal to add your vote!
🏦 View historical tax forms
For communities using the online payments platform, administrators can now view historical tax forms in the Admin Portal. For communities that meet certain thresholds (defined by the government), these forms are mailed at the beginning of each year. With this new feature, no need to fret if you can't find one of these physical copies!
➕ Additional beta community sites functionality
Last quarter, we announced that we'd made available an early beta preview of our work to modernize the underlying technologies powering our community sites. This is the final front end yet to be rebuilt on our multi-year journey to upgrade to next gen technologies. This past quarter, we made additional progress, although much of it was behind the scenes. What you can check out are two new page types (the "community facilities" and "photo gallery" page types), along with a streamlined flow for viewing protected files (that doesn't require signing back in). As a reminder, you can view the beta version by adding /beta
to your community’s domain or website address (e.g., if your community’s domain is examplehoa.com
then you can visit examplehoa.com/beta
to preview the beta version).
☑️ Activity log for resellers
A small, but helpful improvement for our resellers: the Reseller Portal now offers an activity log that lists activities that have occurred within your reseller account. These activities are similar to, but distinct from, the activities that appear in the Admin Portal for individual community websites.
🖋 Blog posts
In light of the bright summer sun (pun intended), our customer success team rounded up eight ways to keep your community safe this summer! Sun safety is no joke, so give the blog post a read for tips on helping protect your community.
Wrapping up
Keep an eye out for additional functionality in the early preview of the community websites powered by next gen technologies—our team is making strong progress and is excited for the eventual completion of this project!
